State Bar Sections and Local Bar Associations Partner with Texas C-BAR
Thanks to funding from the Texas Bar Foundation, Texas C-BAR has reached out to local bar sections and
associations this year. By engaging statewide and local sections of the bar in promoting Texas C-BAR, our
capacity to provide pro bono opportunities to attorneys who are solo practitioners or from smaller firms is
greatly enhanced. These partnerships have taken various forms, from facilitating referrals for members to
pledging financial support for the work of Texas C-BAR. Many transactional attorneys in smaller firms or
cities are committed to providing access to legal services to those who can't afford them. Working through
bar sections and local bar associations, Texas C-BAR is able to offer these attorneys the opportunity to give
their time and expertise to nonprofits working to improve the lives of low-income Texans.
With the long term commitment of the Bar to help reach more attorney volunteers and fund Texas C-BAR,
nonprofits across the state can be assured that they will have access to high quality legal services for years to
come. In addition to the Texas Bar Foundation, the following bar sections and local bar associations have helped
Texas C-BAR build stronger communities:
State Bar of Texas Corporate Counsel Section
State Bar of Texas Labor and Employment Law Section
State Bar of Texas Real Estate, Probate, and Trust Law Section
State Bar of Texas Taxation Section
Austin Bar Association Real Estate Law Section
Dallas Bar Association Real Property Section
El Paso Young Lawyers Association
Houston Bar Association Real Estate Law Section
Mexican American Bar Association of El Paso
Travis County Women Lawyers' Association
