Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP, one of Texas C-BAR’s newest volunteer law firms, has demonstrated stellar dedication to Texas nonprofits, accepting 10 matters during the six months they’ve partnered with Texas C-BAR.

In June, a Gibson Dunn volunteer helped La Calle Diez, an affordable housing development corporation serving the families in the Tenth Street neighborhood in Dallas, to complete their mission. Gibson Dunn prepared real estate documents that corrected a deed transferring property from La Calle Diez to two low-income homeowners. The real estate transaction helped La Calle Diez complete their promise to the community to improve the neighborhood by developing all available land into safe, decent, affordable housing.

In addition to real estate expertise, Gibson Dunn attorneys have shared their corporate, tax, intellectual property, construction, and employment expertise with Texas nonprofits ranging from Texas Inmate Services, Inc helping ex-offenders reintegrate into mainstream life to CASA of Deep East Texas helping abused and neglected children navigate the criminal justice system.

In December 2006, Gibson Dunn stepped up their commitment, accepting an employment law matter for a women’s shelter just four days before Christmas, despite the fact that end of year closings and intense preparations for a new year come together to make December an extremely busy month.

Demonstrating dedication and commitment in offering pro bono assistance to their community, the Dallas branch of Gibson Dunn has already made a large impact on the Texas nonprofit community.
